Grand Opening
It's impossible to improve on the Creator's design of these gorgeous, magnified Poppy blooms to emphasize the "Grand Opening"! It was difficult to capture their incredible beauty, with translucent red-orange overlapping petals & the intricately, detailed shape of the purple-lavender, fringed stamen & mint-green pods. However, this painting is a visual reminder that we must be on the look-out blessings or we'll miss the JOY when they "pop out" in real life!

When I was going through difficult life circumstances, I wanted to paint something that would be bright & up-lifting. Since flowers usually cheer us up, I decided to create an original composition of gorgeous red Poppies, in different stages of blooming in a cozy setting of a picket-fenced garden. "Grand Opening" illustrates the exclamation of the wisest man on earth, King Solomon who wrote, “Look, flowers appear on the earth; the time for singing has come. The cooing of doves is heard in our land!” (Song of Solomon 2:12) It reminds us not to remain stuck in our sadness, but rather choose to be grateful & find JOY "popping out" in the beauty in nature & other blessings that God sends our way. Also, the perfect number of seven poppies at differing stages of blooming, represent our spiritual growth in becoming fully mature. The close proximity of the blooms magnifies the translucent quality of the flower petals, and also depicts the perfection of the “fuzzy” detail on the stems & seed pods.
