This 20"W X 16"H Oil on canvas board has a rough texture with a palette knife paint application created to portray the roughness of life from nature's effect on the windmill, split rail fence & the barren, dry grassland.
This (20 X 16) Oil with Palette knife on canvas board was my first attempt at painting original content! My desire was to capture a unique, old structure, the Windmill, showing the rough effects of nature on the surfaces of man’s building materials & his physical life, in contrast to the fresh life of the Spirit & the Lord’s love. The Wind Blows represents the meaning of this verse:
The life of mortals is like grass, they flourish like a flower of the field; the wind blows over it and it’s gone, & its place remembers it no more. But from everlasting to everlasting, the Lord’s love is with those who fear Him, & His righteousness with their children’s children—with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey His precepts. (Psalm 103:15-18)
